Here is the entire GOP debate which aired on Fox News on August 11, 2011. There has been a lot of controversy regarding some of the questions. Some of them may be legitimate, but much of it is overblown. The biggest problem is the number of candidates. Honestly, some of them (like Huntsman) probably shouldn't have been on stage for the simple fact that they are polling extremely low and frankly rob the audience and the candidates from more serious time.
However, when it comes to substance, it was a good debate. We saw a great contrast between libertarianism (Ron Paul) and conservatism (with candidates like Sanatorium and others) regarding social issues and national security. It is also interesting to see the difference between Senators/Congressmen and governors and how they view each other. Note particularly the debate between the "Minnesota Twins" Bachman and Pawlenty. It will be interesting to see what everyone else things.
At the end, what we may be able to grasp from this debate and the Iowa straw poll Saturday is the question of who will be left. I predict that soon Sanatorium and Huntsman will drop out of the race. Pawlenty may also have to call it quits. But even with that, the race for the nomination is between Romney, Bachmann, and Perry when he enters the race. Gingrich and Cain may be able to get in that list, but I seriously doubt it.
