12 Reasons We can Have Confidence in the Gospels

The following is a lecture from Dr. Craig Blomberg who is a leading, conservative scholar on the Gospels and New Testament studies. In this 47 minutes talk, Dr. Blomberg offers 12 reasons why we can believe that the Gospels are reliable.

I offer most of the 12 points below. I missed a few.

1. The astonishing number of ancient manuscripts we possess in various languages.
2. The original authors were in the position to report accurate history.
3. All four Gospels were written during the 1st century.
6. The differences among the gospels closely match the pattern of ancient storytelling.
7. Hard sayings.
8. Missing topics.
10. What non-Christians wrote about Jesus.
11. Archeology
12. The testimony of other early Christian writers.
