Pot Meet Kettle: Obama on the Evils of Harvesting Human Organs

While speaking to a group of African leaders, a young woman from Kenya said to President Barack Obama:
"And I’m speaking on behalf of my brothers and sisters with albinism from Africa. As you may know, Mr. President, persons with albinism in Africa are being killed and their body parts harvested for ritual purposes. My request to you is to raise this issue with the heads of states from African countries to bring these atrocities to an end, for the benefit of for us in this room, and our brothers and sisters back in Africa. Thank you." (source)
President Obama responded with describing such a practice - killing and then harvesting innocent humans - as "a tradition [not] worth prserving." He then described it as "tomfoolery," "craziness" and cruel." The exchange took place Monday August 3.

The significance of this exchange should not be missed. This was in the midst of the Planned Parenthood revelations (which he remains a major supporter of) who harvest the fetal tissue of aborted infants for profit. Doug Wilson has responded by suggesting "if tone deafness had a jersey, I think we should retire it now." I agree. Mr. Obama seems oblivious to what he just said. Mr. President, why is it wrong to harvest the organs of innocent African lives but perfectly legal to do the same to the unborn in his own country?

Regardless, we must not forget that for the left there is a major difference between the infant in the third trimester and the "persons with albinism in Africa." The unborn are not persons with rights. They are tissue - the byproduct of sperm and egg. Nothing more. To abort a child is, in essence, no different than removing a cyst or a skin tag.

The day will come when our descendents will look upon us with shame for what we have done to million innocent children. President Obama and defenders of the abortion industry are on the wrong side of history.
